Indian Premier League is the most watched domestic cricket league which is held every year in the months of April and May in India. IPL 2016 Points Table
Winning nine matches, Gujarat Lions bagged first place in the points table of ninth edition of Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders won same number of matches, but the net run rate of each decided their respective ranks in the standings. RCB, SRH and KKR held 2nd, 3rd and 4th position, respectively. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils were at 5th and sixth position in IPL 9 stanings. Rising Pune Supergiants and Delhi Daredevils remained at the bottom places of score table. RPS was at 7th position while DD secured 8th rank in the same chart. Sunrisers Hyderabad, for the first time, won the IPL title. Captained by Australian cricketer, team SRH defeated Virat Kohli led RCB in the final game and won the match by 8 runs. David Warner, Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting rendered pivotal roles in their team’s victory. Chris Gayle too tried his best by hitting speedy runs, but the team failed to chase the target of 209 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 8 runs.
IPL 2015 Points Table
Captained by former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings topped IPL standings for the third time in the history of Indian Premier League. Winning nine matches, CSK earned 18 points. Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians grabbed second position in the same table by earning 16 points. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals too earned 16 points each. The difference between the overall run rate of both teams was comparatively and hence they remained at the bottom of top four teams. With a surprising performance, Kings XI Punjab emerged as the most successful team in the seventh season of Indian Premier League. Conquering 11 matches, Priti Zinta owned team bagged first position in point table. Owned by Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, Kolkata Knight Riders attained 2nd place in the same chart. Winning 9 matches, Chennai Super Kings secured third rank in the standings. Mumbai Indians hold fourth place by earning 14 points. As net run rate was comparatively lower, Rajasthan Royals ended up bagging fifth rank in IPL 7 points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad could win only six matches. SRH grabbed sixth position in the table. Delhi Daredevils was the supreme performer in 2012’s IPL tournament. RR attained 7th place while KXIP hold 8th rank. Led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai’s team won the title for the first time in IPL history.

Delhi Daredevils team emerged as the most successful team in 2nd season of Indian Premier League. The team won ten matches and secured first rank in the points table by earning 20 points. Followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings grabbed second place with 17 points. Earning 18 points, RCB attained third position in the same chart. Deccan Chargers Hyderabad, which was at bottom place in IPL 1 standings, boosted its performance in the 2nd edition of IPL and grew its rank to fourth position by earning 14 points. By winning 11 matches, Shilpa Shetty owned Rajasthan Royals topped the points table in the first season of Indian Premier League. Priti Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab secured 2nd rank by earning 20 points. Followed by Delhi Daredevils at fourth place, Chennai Super Kings minted the third rank with 16 points. Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders lost equal number of matches. But the difference between points scored by them placed MI and KKR at 5th and 6th position, respectively. RCB attained 7th position by winning four matches while DCH remained at the bottom position by loosing maximum number of matches in the tournament.
